A Plea Agreement Has Been Reached For An Early Woman In The Case Of Over 1,000 Dead Pigs

An Early woman has been offered a plea agreement for a case involving the death of over 1,000 pigs in Sac County.


On Thursday, June 30, 34-year-old Elana May Laber was taken into custody following Sac County Sheriff’s Deputies responding to two hog confinement sites located approximately half a mile from each other.


Corey AGR Inc. of Lytton owned the pigs, and an estimated $150,000 was lost due to the death of the animals.


Laber was initially charged with two counts of first-degree criminal mischief, a class C felony, and two counts of livestock neglect, a serious misdemeanor.


According to the plea agreement, Laber faces one count of first-degree criminal mischief and one count of livestock neglect.


She faces up to 10 years in prison...
