18-wheeler hauling cattle overturns in early, 4 cattle severely injured & euthanized

EARLY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The City of Early put out a traffic warning Friday evening, after a cattle truck turned on its side. After hours of help from a number of nearby services and volunteers, the scene was cleaned, but four cattle were severely injured.
According to a Facebook post, an 18-wheeler hauling a load of cattle was traveling to San Angelo when it turned on to Early Boulevard from US 84 and overturned in the intersection.
Multiple agencies responded to the wreck; including Early Police and Fire Departments, Early Lifeguard Ambulance Service, Brown County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Public Safety.
The responding services assisted in clean up and traffic control. Traffic was rerouted from the time of the crash at 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 Friday night.
Multiple volunteers with cattle trailers also worked for hours to help free cattle trapped in the 18-wheeler’s trailer. From there, three veterinarians responded to check the health of the cattle as they were freed from the wreckage.
Unfortunately, Early Police Department reporter four of the 40 head of cattle had to be euthanized due to severe injuries.
