China's pork prices edge up last week

BEIJING, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Pork prices in China edged up last week, official data showed.

 

From June 13 to June 17, the average pork price tracked by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was 21.68 yuan (about 3.23 U.S. dollars) per kg, up 3.6 percent week on week. The price was 15.1 percent higher than a year ago.

 

China has introduced a three-level early-warning system to raise the alarm for excessive ups and downs in hog prices.
