There have been many unhappy customers of Amazon because of delayed delivery by USPS. Amazonís pride is speed of delivery, and customers are frequently disappointed when USPS delivers 2-3 days after the promised date.

Sure, Amazonís delivery fleet is growing. There are 70 airplanes, 40,000 semi-trailers, 30,000 vans and other delivery vehicles that service the U.S. UPS gets a portion of the merchandise to be delivered while FedEx gets none. Their contract to deliver Amazon merchandise was cancelled the end of August 2019 because of delays.

Jason Boyce owns the Amazon Agency Avenue 7 Media, a seller management group, has many clients including Tormago and Wall in Tets which makes and sells dog wheelchairs. He told me of delivery problems. USPS is used for many small-town deliveries, but has failed to meet delivery dates.

Amazon has changed shopping culture in America. Speed is of the essence, and Amazonís Prime members should be able to count on one day delivery for most purchases Amazon has gone to suppliers to deliver their merchandise. One instance is Costcoís Kirkland Brand Tylenol which can only be obtained from Amazon for on-line delivery. Nonetheless, Costco has learned to speed up deliveries and is often beating their own delivery deadline by days.

The technology at Amazon is amazing and the company is inventive with new ideas Ė such as Alexa. It has forced department and specialty stores to speed their delivery process to a point where my recent purchase from Best Buy was delivered within three hours on a Sunday afternoon...
